What Happens At Notting Hill Carnival?
The Illumination of the Streets Parade, an amazing display of colour and sound that proceeds from Ladbroke Grove to Westbourne Park, kicks off the Notting Hill Carnival. People stroll the route while wearing traditional carnival garb while dancing, enjoying listening to steel bands and a variety of sound systems. The carnival officially kicks off one week before the main Bank Holiday event, and the opening parade is a sight not to be missed.
Once the parade is over, the after party really starts. There’s live music, DJ sets, and plenty of Caribbean food. From jerk chicken to fried plantains and curried goat, there’s something to suit everyone’s taste. It’s a great way to experience the flavours of the Caribbean.
When Is Notting Hill Carnival 2023 Dates?
Regarding Children’s Day, which happens on Sunday, the 27th August 2023, is a family-friendly event with less hustle and bustle. There were many vibrant costumes which parades in the streets of Ladbroke Grove and Notting Hill areas, which complemented very well.
The Main event and everyone’s favourite day will be the Bank Holiday on the 28th August in 2023, when tens of thousands of partygoers filling the streets of Notting-Hill.
